Human rights activist, Comrade Osita Obi, has raised concern over the increasing number of missing individuals in Anambra State.
The activist, who spoke at a press conference in Awka, highlighted that it has become disturbingly common for people to disappear without a trace in Anambra, with little to no action taken to address these cases.
He pointed out that aside from those who have been kidnapped and never found, there are three prominent figures in the state, including businessman Mr. Benjamin, House of Assembly member Hon. Justice, and Labour Party candidate Mr. Obiora, who have all gone missing at different times without any efforts made to locate them.
Obi expressed particular worry about the sudden disappearance of Mr. Benjamin, who is also the Vice Chairman of Dubai Estate and widely known as Big Ben. He vanished on November 12 and has not been seen since then.
“We urge the government to intensify efforts to locate Mr. Benjamin. His case is a wake-up call for all of us as no one is immune to such occurrences. The government must utilize its resources to bring him back. What measures is the federal government taking to address this issue?"
